Here is a list of all the things I must show:
I think the best place to start would be at the top of the list
It depends on the type of Hammerhead, as the hammerhead is a species of shark.
The Great HammerHead Shark is a solitary animal and is very territorial.
The Scalloped HammerHead is an animal that hunts in groups. It leans further into the communal aspect of animals.
The Great HammerHead Shark has evolved the perfect fins for movment in the waters.
It is safe to assume the the Great HammerHead adapted in this way 45 Million Years Ago! (source) (at least, thats the first evidence of hammerheads existance in the wild).
The Great HammerHead Shark does indeed hibernate. During summer months, they move towards colder water in the poles. During winter months, the Great HammerHead Shark will move towards the equator to find warmer climates. (source)
The Great HammerHead Shark is the largest HammerHead species. The average size for a Great HammerHead is 13.1 feet and 500lbs(source). However, the females are often larger then their male counterparts. The average size for a Female Great HammerHead Shark is 15-18 Feet in length. The average length for a Male Great HammerHead Shark is 13 Feet. (source).
The Great HammerHead Shark has adapted to breathing the same way most other fish have, with one funky addition. The Great HammerHead Shark has adapted gills, nothing new there. The cool part is that the hammerhead shark has the ability to close their gills (hold their breath) during dives. This was discovered by the University of Western Austrailia (of course it was austrailia) in which they theorised they closed their gills to regulate body tempuratures during dives. This was adapted to better help with the ongoing affect of climate change and Global Warming. (source).
The Great HammerHead Shark breed with Internal Fertilization. (source). Internal Fertilization is when a sperm meets an egg inside of the Female of a species. Humans use Internal Fertilization (as an examle). The Great HammerHead Shark can have anywhere from 6 - 42 pups at a time. The Great HammerHead Shark swims with their young from cold to warm water and hunt for them until they are old eough to swim and hunt on their own. (source).
Sexual Dimorphism does exist in HammerHead Sharks. The Female sharks have much wider uteri. Male sharks also reach sexual maturity much younger then their female counter parts. (source).
The Scalloped HammerHead Shark developed widly spaced eyes, nostrils, and other senses allow the Scalloped HammerHead Shark to locate near prey.
